Cheval Riding Club

Cheval Riding Club Facilities

Cheval Riding Club is one of the only clubs in the country that has premises exclusively for the use of its members. In 1987 Cheval riding club formed a company and after much fundraising purchased land for what is now the Cheval Jordanstown showgrounds. This was at the time a simple field with no facilities. A clubhouse was bought and a water supply and septic tank installed. The field was subdivided into 5 grass arenas as well as warm-up and parking areas and storage units for jumping and dressage equipment.

In 1997, once more after much fundraising and the winning of a Leader grant an all-weather arena was constructed which meant that the showground’s could be used all year round without causing damage to the ground during wetter periods.
